Merchant Credit Card Processing
First State Bank of Colorado offers credit card processing services catered to the needs of your business. The basic processing set-up includes the ability to accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit and signature-based debit cards. Merchants may add functionality permitting the acceptance of American Express, Diners Club, Carte Blanche, and JCB cards, as well as PIN-based debit cards. Our card processing program also allows the merchant to establish check guarantee and gift card programs. Accounts can be tailored to retail, hotel, restaurant, or on-line merchants. Cards may be processed by way of stationary electronic terminal, wireless terminal, cell phone, or PC-based processing software. Our card processing program is very cost-competitive and we likely have a program that will meet your needs.
In order to keep start-up costs low, the Bank charges an affordable application fee and provides card processing equipment “at cost”. To establish a card processing account, the merchant must fill out the appropriate application and have a business DDA (checking) account open with the Bank. Newer Bank customers may be asked to provide a business and/or personal financial statement. All accounts must be approved both by the Bank and by the card processing company used by the Bank to offer these services. Once approved, a card processing account can normally be functional within a week. Please contact your banker for current processing rates and fees.
